2025 State of the Theatre Address

Dear Theatre Supporters & Community Members,

We are thrilled to announce that we will be opening our lobby doors for fundraising events beginning this December! Keep an eye on our website or follow us on social media for future events and information.

As we stand at the threshold of an exciting new chapter in WWCA’s journey, I want to take a moment to reflect on the extraordinary path we’ve traveled together and share with you the important steps we are taking as we move forward.

After years of growth, dedication, and artistic achievement WWCA has found a new home at 624 Bay Street in Downtown Port Orchard. This new space is a canvas upon which we will create the future of our community’s cultural and artistic life. But this space, while full of potential, requires transformation. It needs our collective vision, effort, and resources to make it a place where creativity and connection can flourish.

As many of you know, the arts are the heartbeat of a vibrant community. Our theatre has always been a sanctuary for expression, a space for local voices to be heard, and a stage where stories come to life. It is a place where we gather, collaborate, and challenge ourselves in a welcoming and inclusive place for all. But as we step into this new chapter, we need more than just enthusiasm—we need your support.

Renovating this new space is a monumental undertaking, and the road ahead will require significant financial investment. The costs are crucial, covering everything from rebuilding the stage, seating, and backstage areas, to expanding restrooms, installing a new sprinkler system, and upgrading the HVAC system.

In short, we need you. We need the community that has always supported us to stand with us now, as we take this bold step forward.

Cat in the Hat

Your contribution, no matter the size, will have a direct impact on the future of Western Washington Center for the Arts. It will help bring our renovation to life, ensuring that we can continue to offer transformative theatre experiences for years to come. Your gift will allow us to not only complete these renovations, but also expand our programming (specifically for kids), develop new community partnerships, and provide opportunities for emerging artists.

Our Board of Directors has been working diligently to bring our new space to fruition and we ask you, our loyal patrons, artists, volunteers, and friends, to consider making a donation today. Your support will help lay the foundation for the next generation of storytelling, performance, and creative exploration in our community.

In addition to donations, we also encourage you to spread the word—share our mission with friends, family, and colleagues. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, helps us reach our goal. If you’d like to make a donation or learn more about how you can get involved, please visit the donation page. You can make this a monthly donation by checking the box beneath your donation amount! We also have a venmo account (@wwca1) accepting donations.

We know that together, we can make this dream a reality. Thank you for your continued support, and for believing in the power of theatre to transform lives and communities.

With deepest gratitude and excitement for what’s to come,

Rebecca Ewen
