Now that we have a new building at 624 Bay Street, we are working on renovating it and making it a home for our theatre. Needless to say, this is quite an undertaking and your support is crucial and greatly beneficial at this time. There are a variety of changes that need made, repairs that need done, and regular costs and maintenance to keep the lights on and allow us to perform. We are staffed by volunteers with a passion for bringing the arts to our local community, and we aim to continue to bring the arts to Port Orchard and give opportunities to performers and creative minds in our corner of Kitsap County.
To this end, we invite you to donate to our Theatre Renovation Fund – whether via a one time donation or a monthly contribution to our Theatre Renovation Fund, or by rounding up on ticket purchases for events. We have a goal of raising $350,000 to renovate the building, which includes bringing it up to code for its new purpose, installing sprinklers, reconfiguring electrical, updating plumbing, and covering the operating costs of the theatre for utilities and rent among many other tasks both great and small to be handled.
Our current project that we are working on is updating a second bathroom in the building to meet ADA requirements and allow us to upgrade our occupancy permit to host larger events. Doing so also requires raising the floor in the bathroom and updating the plumbing, and the current estimate for the bathroom project is $20,000.
