Love, Loss and What I Wore
Audition date(s): Wednesday Oct. 11, Saturday Oct. 14, and Sunday Oct. 15
Performance dates: Jan 19 – Feb 4, 2024
Synopsis
A play of monologues and ensemble pieces about women, clothes and memory covering all the important subjects—mothers, prom dresses, mothers, buying bras, mothers, hating purses and why we only wear black. Based on the bestselling book by Ilene Beckerman.
What to expect
Love, Loss and What I Wore has a unique ‘chat show’ style and features 7 women playing more than 26 different characters. It’s not as daunting as it sounds! There will also be 2-3 ‘models’ who wear some of the mentioned clothing items. Models will also double as backstage help.
Exploring how we connect clothes we wore to certain times in our life, this show is funny, tender, silly, touching, and though provoking. This play is beautifully done with minimal sets as it is very focused on the performances of the actors.
Auditions will be held at WWCA and consist of cold readings from the script and brief introductions (as time allows). You can choose from three audition dates:
- Wednesday, October 11 at 5:30 pm
- Saturday, October 14 at 2:00 pm
- Sunday, October 15 at 11:00 am
Actors must be available for preview night and all performances:
- Preview: January 16, 2024
- Performances: January 19 – February 4, 2024
- Friday and Saturday evenings
- Sunday matinee
If you have any questions, or want to schedule an alternative audition, please contact Director Neicie Packer at neiciepack@yahoo.com or (253) 222-7911. Alternate auditions must be scheduled before October 6.
